Whether you’re in an up or down in your business, I just want to take a second to call you out.
Ups and downs are a normal part of entrepreneurship.
It’s not a reflection on you as a person, it’s just an opportunity to keep learning and growing as an independent business owner.
When You’re Up
First, let’s talk about when things are going well in your business.
You’re crushing your sales goals, you’re expanding your audience, and you’re just on a roll. That’s a sign that what you’re doing is working.
I’m sure you’re well aware that the ups don’t last forever, so seize the opportunity to learn from it…
- What are you doing that’s working?
- What kind of content performs the best with your audience?
- What’s been a common theme in your success?
- How can you lean in even more to the strategies that grow your business?
When your business is growing, that means you’re on the right track.
When You’re Down
Business isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. You’re going to have some downs, too.
Your sales are down from last year, you lose some customers, and you’re struggling to make things work. That’s a sign something needs to change.
It’s an opportunity to put your feelings aside and take an honest look at your business…
- What are you doing that’s not working?
- What kind of content performs the worst with your audience?
- What’s been a common theme in your pitfalls?
- How can you change your strategies to get back in alignment with your vision?
The downs don’t have to last forever. Don’t think of it as failure, think of it as an opportunity to learn.
Either Way, It’s Not A Reflection On YOU
If you only take one thing away from this episode, I want it to be this: ups and downs in business are perfectly normal.
Business is cyclical. Economies are cyclical. Being an entrepreneur means taking risks, and sometimes those risks just don’t pan out.
It doesn’t mean you’re a failure. It doesn’t mean you’re bad at business. It just means it’s time to re-evaluate and try again.
Instead of getting in your own head and creating stories like, “People aren’t buying my jewelry!” Ask yourself, “What can I do differently to show up for my Dream Clients?”
Wherever you are in business, you’re doing a good job, m’dear.
