Tyler fashion show to showcase local retailers | Local News

Guests can become fashionistas on July 24 at BAM Woman Magazine’s inaugural Fashion Soiree.

BAM Woman Magazine founder LaToyia S. Jordan said she is excited to host its first fashion show, in the works since the end of last year.

“This is the first fashion show that we’ve done,” Jordan said. “We wanted to do something new and bring something different to East Texas to try to raise the gap between different cultural backgrounds and different walks of life. We want to bring the East Texas community under one roof and celebrate fashion, fun and entertainment.”

A portion of proceeds will benefit the I Am Beautiful Movement, a nonprofit organization that focuses on confidence and self-esteem and raises awareness for human trafficking.

Jordan said the event also aims to showcase business owners, models, photographers and boutique owners.

LaCrecia Steward, business owner and BAM Woman Magazine editor, looks forward to spotlighting small boutiques with the fashion show.

“As a small business owner in the beauty industry, I wanted to bring awareness to other small businesses in the same field,” Steward said. “Most of them made some of their biggest sales during COVID-19 and have gone full throttle since then, not missing a beat. Also, to help draw public attention to small boutique whether they have a storefront or online.”

BAM Woman Magazine is still accepting sponsorships, which come in different levels and start at $30. Donations and sponsorships can be made to the magazine’s PayPal account and CashApp ($BAMWomanMagazine).

The Fashion Show Soiree will be at HJC Venue, located at 4707 State Highway 31 West in Tyler, on July 24, and doors will open at 5 p.m. with the show at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased for $20 at eventbrite.com/e/bam-fashion-soiree-tickets-147704653595.
